Sometimes user might encounter problems with software speed running slow after importing survey points. This usually happens when the number of survey points imported is at large or the size of survey drawing is large and these will give effect towards the software running speed.

Case 1:

If the survey drawing size is large (more than 10 MB)

Suggestion Solution:

User is advised to reduce the drawing size by removing and deleting unnecessary layers that will not be used for modeling purpose in software.

Case 2:

If the survey points imported is generated from contour lines and the points/lines are located near to each other it becomes heavy and surely will slow down the software running speed.

In MiTS 2, there are parameters setting that can be adjusted to filter some of the survey points imported from contour lines and will speed up the software speed.

For example , let’s look how the number of original survey points imported before apply any filter in ‘Advanced Setting

To apply the filter, go to Advanced Settings;

  1. Elevation Interval

For elevation interval, to reduce the number of contour lines imported, it would be best if user can increase/further the elevation interval, for eg: 10m.

Hence, the software will only import survey points contour lines at 10 m apart.

  1. Polyline Import

For polyline filter, this filter will help in reducing the number of vertices taken at each contour lines for all elevation intervals.

For example, 100m minimum spacing at polyline, hence, sthe oftware will only import point/vertex which is 100 m aapartfrom each other for every contour lines and point/vertex which is less than 100m apart will not be imported.
